On January 31th there was a two-hour dialog with representatives of Belarusian and international organizations and Piotr Dardzinski, the head of the political department of the Polish Ministry of Justice.
The meeting was realized by the joint appeal to the Ministry from representatives of organizations - Ihar Schekarevich from the Center “Collaboration without borders”, Anatol Mihnauc from “Union for Democracy in Belarus” and Zmicer Barodka from “European Belarus”.
At the meeting Belarusian activists discussed about three main questions – the 12-years’ persecution to Andrey Zhukawiec, Belarusian oppositionist by the court in Bialystok, scandalous decision of the court in Bydgoszcz about the practical prohibition of the Belarusian national white-red-white flag at sport events in Poland and the opportunity to resolve the Belarusian-Polish legal agreement, under which they told the bank details of Aleś Bialiacki to Belarusian government.
As Ihar Schekarevich, the representative of the Center “Collaboration without borders” said, this is not the last meeting in the Ministry.
Schekarevich: “To be able to solve the problems, which currently exist step by step, it was decided to organize such a meeting, at least one more time. It would be naive to think that all of these problems can be solved in one conversation. Therefore, we are grateful that the Polish Ministry of Justice understands us and consultations will be continued”.
Let’s remind that this is not the first meeting of representatives of organizations at the highest level in Poland. On December 22 in 2011 they met with Robert Gernand, the Substitute of Polish Public Prosecutor General. At the meeting numerous violations of the rights of the Belarusian opposition activists by the Polish prosecutors were discussed. After the results of the meeting, activists rated it as a successful one.
